Blackwing pencils built a cult following among famed 20th century artists, especially authors, animators, and musicians. When they were unexpectedly discontinued in the 1990s, devotees began paying as much as $40 for a single pencil on eBay.

We acquired the brand in 2010 and relaunched it soon thereafter, putting Blackwing pencils in the waiting hands of a new generation of artists and everyday people looking for the tactile sensation of pencil on paper.

This special edition pencil is the third entry in our Blackwing Eras series. Each set includes 12 Blackwing pencils with a retro design inspired by the arrow-punched ferrule found on Blackwing pencils in the mid-20th century.
