Take a trip with us to Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Tucked away in this brick landscape is the cozy Yoseka Stationery shop, where East meets West. “We started Yoseka Stationery as a way of introducing Asian stationery here in the U.S.” says Daisy, who co-owns Yoseka with her husband, Neil, whose parents started the first Yoseka in Taiwan in 1981.

One of the hallmarks of their shop is a long wooden table that runs through the center, and offers a space for customers to try Yoseka’s most popular notebooks, fountain pens, and pencils before buying them. “My favorite thing is being able to inspire our customers through these wonderful tools,” remarks Daisy about what drives her passion to sell stationery. In fact, customers leave everything from notes and doodles to full drawings in the tester notebooks left out for them. “It’s inspiring to see what people can make with nothing but something to write and draw with.”

Yoseka has been a Blackwing retailer since the very beginning of their U.S. journey in 2018, when they began as a series of pop-ups in Queens. They soon settled into their current location, a friendly corner of Brooklyn, in the Greenpoint neighborhood.
